|May 15, 2002||vs Tower Ravens||Lost by three wickets|
Edged to defeat
Snick! Snack! The ball slipped back! The keeper caught and killed the attack!
In other words, our key batsmen kept edging to the keeper, when they weren't being clean bowled by the nippy deliveries.
Thornhill, Stebbins, Muir, Wardle, Rooney, Hosking. They all fell at low cost to the Ravens.
It was the tail that wagged, as net stars Frisby and Shaw kept the game going all the way to the end for a 44-run partnership -- over half the total.
The Ravens made their chase look easy, until a late mini-collapse added some excitement to the close.
But in the end fate could not be tricked and the game was duly lost with overs to spare.
