We arrived gunning for revenge after our 10-wicket defeat to Cincinatti last season. It was breezy summer's day with temperatures peaking at 28˚C.

This was our first ever visit to Bromley Common. This South London venue was luxurious and the pitch was a batsman's paradise with a quick outfield. Plus, the clubhouse bar was open.

My knee was still playing up, so I had the luxury of watching the game from the boundary, putting my feet up and having the odd drink or three.

We won the toss and elected to bat. We got off to tremendous start. Jakaria and Asad put on 141 for our first wicket. Jak scored 47, including seven fours. Asad was sensational. He scored 106, reaching his hundred in style with a straight six. He hit fifteen fours and two sixes.

Umair scored a rapid 22 and Junaid didn't hang around either, scoring 51 not out in just five overs, with eight fours and one almighty six.

At the halfway stage we had reached 266 for five off our 35 overs. Tea was served and taken.

We totally dominated Cincinnati from the start and they never really settled in their chase. From 77 for five they did well to reach 191 for nine off their 35 overs. Only Moshin Ali looked capable of causing any concern. He played some delightful strokes for an entertaining 86.

All our bowlers did their job and we won comfortably by 75 runs.
