Another enthralling low-scoring encounter as both teams struggled to make runs on a slow tricky wicket.

We won the toss and elected to bat, which on reflection was probably the wrong decision.

Our wickets fell swiftly as Camel bowled with constant control and accuracy, restricting us to a measly 103 all out.

The highlight of our batting was Goddalla Srinivasrao hitting a rapid 20 with two fours and two sixes at the end of our innings to get us over the hundred mark.

Defending such a low total wasn't going to be easy, but we definitely weren't going down without a fight!

We got off to perfect start as ‘Lighting’ Jack Turner, back after a two-year break, took an exceptional low catch off Umair to remove Gideon for 7 and we had them 10 for 1.

Next up a phenomenal piece of fielding by young bullet-arm Goddalla, who ran out Richard for 12 with a direct hit from extra cover. Things were beginning to look good at 23 for 2, followed by Waseem clean bowling Matt for 1 with a yorker, with Camel now at 34 for 3.

Goddalla was rewarded with a wicket when an outside nick flew to first slip where Junaid took a fine catch to dismiss Rohit for 7.

Salim Mithani came on and bowled a remarkable spell. His quick arm spin almost turned the game in our favour, producing with exceptional figures of 8-0-19-4. His deliveries bamboozled the Camel batsmen and he was rewarded immediately with his first wicket with his fourth ball with a plumb lbw removing Saif for 9.

We had them wobbling at 55 for 5 off 18 overs. We had defended 109 the previous week, and we started to believe we repeat this feat again.

Salim removed Sam for 4 after he attempted an all-mighty smash which failed and just edged behind to short third leg where Waseem took the catch. A few overs later Salim took the big wicket of Nabil for 27 after Jack took another sharp catch. At 97 for 8 and after the departure of the last recognised batsman, we thought this might just be our day.

Unfortunately Camel scrambled over the winning line with 2 wickets to spare. They thoroughly deserved the victory in this well-fought contest.
