April 29, 2008 vs London Fields Lost by 4 wickets

Full scorecard | averages | back to fixtures

Soggy bottoms

Almost entire game played in pouring rain, only stopped in last over. Match reduced to 14 overs. New scorebook suffered in wet, as did players.

Old Fallopians batted first on slippery wicket and wide boundaries of pitch 3. Rafe Smallman top scored with 25, only player to reach double figures. We struggled in rain to 70 off 12.1 overs.

London Fields knocked off the score in the same period. Debutant Rob Watts took two wickets, AK Southey taking the other.

Everyone soaked, dried out in Royal Inn

Captain Philip Barrass adds (clearing up some scorecard confusions):

Fair effort, but I can do better. Rob Watts was clean bowled (very low bounce). John Shaw was run out (and he called for it!).

Fred only bowled one over - the point one was John, whose first ball final over went for 4. I scored 5, but I'll accept 8.
