Lost players haunt stage
David Sultanti writes:
If Hamlet was a cricket play in two
acts set at the ground, Elsinore, the male lead might have
said, "How sad, flat and disappointing seem to me all the uses of
this bat", as he succumbed to a slip catch off Ophelia's bowling.
With only five of the main characters
appearing the team was assisted by four from The Dutch House CC and
two rotating Shakespeare fielders.
In the end it was much ado about
nothing with a performance worse than the "pun-ishing" humour of
this email, I know, unbelievable.
We were brushed aside but lessons
have been learnt. Next time we'll have a better idea of how to deal
with their opening pair (bating and bowling) and no future game will
go ahead unless we have a minimum of nine OFs.
