Under the willow tree: Rafe Smallman faces a delivery
from Jackson of the Pimlico Strollers |
Played at North London Cricket Club, Highgate
Old Fallopians ... lost ...
Here's the verdict on the XI by captain Justin "2 out of 10" Roy:
Chris Sweet |
Sound striking of
the ball belied relative lack of experience. Promising.
7 out of 10
|
Greg Clifford
|
Nearly made up for
some wayward opening bowling with an spectacular (attempted) one
handed, diving catch at long-off. Batted well in increasingly desparate situation. 7 out of 10
|
John Shaw |
Bowled his usual
steady overs but quiet in comparision to the catching and
batting heroics in last year's fixture against the Strollers.
7 out of 10
|
Justin Roy |
Three-ball duck and
little or no demonstation of any captaincy nous. Moronic grin
in team photo. 2 out of 10
|
Peter Frisby |
Woefully unlucky to
not get amongst the wickets. Excellent (and nippy) line and
length bowling from Frisby. 8 out of 10
|
Peter Henry |
Extracted some
intimidating bounce from spongy wicket and would not have ended
wicketless had the umpiring been better. 7 out of 10
|
Rafe Smallman
|
Made several
athletic stops at point and scored a mature 37 runs before
running himself out. The muppet. 7 out of 10
|
Robert Press |
Woeful footwork when
comically kicking a ball over the boundary. Sir Alex Ferguson
has not yet been in contact with OF management. Unlucky to
carve a wide ball hard but straight at a sticky handed cover
fielder. 7 out of 10 |
Simon Tate |
Kept busy behind the
stumps and demonstrated sound defensive technique in an opening
stand with Smallman. 7 out of 10 |
Tim Castle |
Accurate, nagging
bowling helped stifle the Stroller's middle order. Scores 8
out of
10 for superb "star jump" celebration on bowling their top
scrorer.
8 out of 10 |
Will Tennant |
Mixed up off and leg
spin to capture a deserved Michelle. The OF's only real
success of the day. 9 out of 10 |
 |
11 out of 10 for effort?:
(back, L-R): Tim Castle, Justin Roy; (middle L-R): Peter Frisby,
Chris Sweet, Will Tennant, Greg Clifford, John Shaw; (front,
L-R): Simon Tate, Robert Press, Rafe Smallman, Peter Henry |
