Skills gap
In a giants vs minnows contest, the small fish of the Old
Fallopians acted up and came away from this tie with heads held
high.
Goodmayes have been Vic Park Cup finalists in two out of the past
three years and showed their ability by knocking up 220 in 16 overs
after OF captain won the toss and chose to field.
This time our strong batting line-up delivered, with medic Austin
Hymas retiring on 50, and debutant Altaf scoring a determined 37.
But Tariq -- returning to the Fallopians after many years -- was
unlucky to be caught on 3, while AK Southey was getting settled when
he missed a quick one and was dismissed on 17.
In falling light the Fallopians batted out their 16 overs with
wickets in hand.
