Played at Victoria Park
We almost could have won this. One of our strongest ever batting
line-ups chased a reachable target of just under 10 an over, but
faltered and ended the match 35 runs short.
Had we taken more of our catches in the first innings - and
bowled more sparingly in the opening overs - we would have had a
lower goal and, just perhaps, could have clinched it.
Excellent performances all round. Lots of pictures on our Picasa
webpage
here...
Notes from the boundary:
Great batting by Tariq (41), Mat Asquith (33*) - including two
6s, with a runner, and Fred Barrass 22.
Peter Frisby hit on upper arm by rising ball (orange ball bounces
higher)
Asquith also hit by high ball
Two wickets for Frisby
LOTS of runs off Fred B's bowling
Fred Alexander run out on 4 from over-eager quick single
Three good catches, but two others missed
