Played at Parliament Hill
- Opposition Dynamite from south/west London arrived late, only
seven players, others cried off falsely believing bridges were
closed for next day's Jubilee river regatta.
- Ten-year-old Louis Odgers, practicing in nets, co-opted to play
for Dynamite. Revealed as future star, took two wickets (Shaw caught
12, Hamilton bowled 0), scored 9 in lengthy partnership.
- Dan Linde man of match, scored 35, using baseball skills to slog
ball over boundary (seven fours, one six)
- Old Fallopians batted first in 25-over match. Turned out that
while Dynamite had left their batsmen at home, their bowlers had
certainly arrived. Smallman (5) and Davies (0) were early wickets.
- Khalil (19) and Linde steadied the ship, while captain Hopson-Hill
(12) was the first of three LBWs.
- All out for 142 in 20.3 overs after Philip Barrass (12) feathered
ball to keeper, leaving Tim Castle not out (0) without facing a ball
- First class tea provide by Jo Smallman, assisted by another future
cricketing star Gregory (once out of nappies)
- Dynamite were slow out of the blocks, but were accumulating runs
at a steady rate when Davies took a well-held catch to give Barrass
his first wicket of the season
- Khalil and Asquith bowled fast and tight, keeping the scoring down
and with Khalil rewarded with two scalps
- Highlight of the session was grudge match between Hamilton and
Odgson, as the baker's boy tried over four overs to dislodge his
10-year-old nemesis with no success. Frisby finally dislodged
Odgers' bails
- Dynamite had brought one batsman, Noman, who became increasingly
dangerous, despatching any short ball to the boundary and pushing
the opposition score within sight of the total
- An experimental over from Davis (slow and loopy, bashed for 21)
was quickly closed and Hopson-Hill brought back Asquith and Khalil
for the final overs to keep Dynamite 22 runs short of their goal
- Old Fallopians still undefeated at weekends after four matches
