Trevor Sempert (playing his first game of the season for Callys)
opened his account with a blistering unbeaten 50 inside the first 8 overs.
Along with Amir Khan also scoring an unbeaten 55, they shared an opening
stand of 84 before Sempert retired upon his half century. In came another
debutant Mohammed Fazal who carried on where Sempert left off, also
contributing an unbeaten 51. Chat's Palace fought bravely, but with 4
dropped catches early on, it was apparent it was not going to be their day.
Cally's posted their highest score of the season so far, setting a mammoth
total of 213 off 16 overs. The only wicket to fall came from a run-out.
Requiring a meagre rate of over 13 runs per over, Chats started off well,
with Peter Hatting looking solid with his attacking rearguard action. He
punished the bad balls but defended the good balls and comfortably retired
on his half century.
With spin brought into the attack the pace was taken off the ball and chats'
had to work the ball around, but with wickets falling all the time, the
final total looked very much out off reach. Cally's bowled with discipline
with Mohammed Siddiqui impressing with a return of 3 wickets for 17 runs off
his 3 overs.

Really a waste of time playing matches like these; community cricketer
against top class club cricketers. Played in good spirits though!
